Preview of the Malaysia-South Korea
PETALING JAYA (July 21, 2010): THE mouth-watering friendly match to commemorate the diplomatic ties between Malaysia and South Korea
The fixture is a throwback to yesteryear, when the Malaysian team that had names such as Soh Chin Aun and Mokhtar Dahari was on par, if not stronger than South Korea
Although the Koreans have made greater strides over the years, including appearing in seven successive World Cups since 1986, Malaysia in contrast is working hard to raise their game following a gold medal in the biennial SEA Games in Laos
Coach K. Rajagobal will lead his Under-23 team against Hong Myung-bo’s charges at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Kick off is at 5.0pm.

The Koreans are managed by star player-turned-coach, Myung-bo, a potential candidate to replace Huh Jung-moo as the senior team coach.
Myung-bo, a four-time World Cupper and Bronze Ball winner at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, has seen his managerial career continue to rise after leading the Korean Under-20 side to the last eight in the FIFA Under-20 World Championship in Egypt
The result earned him the appointment to the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London

They are Bolton Wanderers right winger, Lee Chung Yong, FC Seoul attacker, Lee Seung Yeoul, left-footed Oita Trinita midfielder, Kim Bo Kyung and Celtic midfielder Ki Sung Yueng. However they are not selected for the Malaysian trip.
Myung-bo has named a 20-strong squad and notable among them are two players who featured in Egypt last year – Kim Dong-sub who is on loan from Shimizu S-Pulse to Tokushima Vortis in Japan Yokohama
Expectations are high that Myung-bo would carry the team to the gold in Asiad. The team's stint in Kuala Lumpur has attracted a group of Pressmen from Seoul
The possible line-up for Malaysian team will feature keeper Farizal Marlias, attacker Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak and Khyril Muhymeen Zambri as well as defenders Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak and Muslim Ahmad.
Prior to the kick-off, highlights of the evening to commemorate the 50th diplomatic ties, is The Cultural Performances. Spectators are welcome to witness and be entertained with eye-catching Malaysian Cultural Show that will take place at 3.45pm, followed by a colourful Korean Cultural Show and a taekwondo presentation during half time, which will commence approximately at 6.00pm.
Tickets are priced at RM30 for grandstand and RM10 and RM5 for children. Tickets will be on sale on match day beginning 10.0am.

KUALA LUMPUR, (D5 Sports) - Until today, Nicol David was invincible on the squash court. Until today, whenever the Malaysian stepped in, a 3-0 win is guaranteed. Until she met Alison Waters of England in the CIMB Malaysian Open semi-finals on Friday, that is.
World No 1 Nicol David finally met an opponent worth playing with in Alison, having to endure through a 64-minute match to seal her 14-12, 12-10, 6-11, 11-7 win at the Curve, Mutiara Damansara.
The Penang lass is still on course to notch her eighth Malaysian Open title after booking her finals ticket with the win even though fourth seed and World No 5 Alison played well to become the first person this year to penetrate Nicol's unbeaten armour.
"Alison was excellent on court today. No doubt she played like she has nothing to lose. It was a great match," said Nicol.
Nicol will face Jenny Duncalf of England, who will be the last hurdle between the Malaysian and a sixth consecutive Malaysian Open crown.
"Everybody, and Jenny included, will bring out their strongest card in every tournament. I have to be always ready to take up the challenge," added Nicol.
Regarding Alison being the first person this year to crack her invincible record, Nicol was unfazed by it.
"In every battle, taking a game or two is normal. I am happy enough I pulled through, regardless whether it is a 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2," quipped the 26-year old Malaysian.
World No 2 Jenny booked her finals berth after sealing a 11-8, 11-5, 8-11, 12-10 win over Raneem El Weleily.
"It was a great one, but a tough match," said Jenny. "I started well, but lost concentration in the third, giving her (Raneem) a chance to come back.
"I knew I cannot lose the fourth, so I pushed it, and luckily it worked out to my favour," she added.
About her finals match with Nicol , the 27-year old Jenny, insists that it is always tough to play the Penang lass.
"She is a well-rounded player, and the best, at that. It will be a very, very difficult match," said Jenny.
